Cada día publicaré uno de los grabados en madera que fomarán parte del libro "Rojo Deseo" de Irma Pineda, poeta de Juchitán, Oaxaca. Cada grabado se ofrece en 65 dolares (incluyendo el envio por correo normal) para los que están fuera de México. Son 800 pesos (incluyendo el envio) para pedidos en México. 

Se van a dar los recurso directamente a la iniciativa de Amigos del IAGO y del CFMAB A.C.

I am offering a series of 10 prints to support those affected by the earthquake. I will publish one woodblock print a day from the series that will be published in the book "Rojo Deseo" by Irma Pineda, poet from Juchitán, Oaxaca. Each print is $65 dollars including the shipping by regular mail for those outside of Mexico. 800 pesos for those in Mexico. 

During the past two weeks I have been coming to terms with the passing of a mentor and friend. Shortly after moving to Xalapa, Veracruz in 1999 I had the good fortune of meeting José Chan, a visual artist who made an indelible impression on me. I hadn't heard of him until then and we met thanks to the fact that he saw some of my postcards in the doctor's office where my former wife was a receptionist. Chan left his card and we got in touch soon after. On the first visit to his house and studio I had the impression of visiting a private museum. There was no doubt I was in the presence of an artist with a very deep an personal story that unfolded in his linoleum prints and painting. During the next 18 years I was enthralled by the stories of his childhood growing up in Palenque, when the jungle and its mysteries, waited a hop skip and a jump from his doorstep, and I witnessed the unfolding of his imagination. As time permits I will share images of his work and memories of my friendship with "Chan", as he was affectionately called. 

Esta es parte de una serie de 15 grabados en linóleo que fueron comisionados por Alejo Garcia par ilustar un cd llamado "Americanotl" conformado en su mayor parte por sus propias composiciones. Nuestros caminos cruzaron subrepticiamente en 2015 en la Ciudad de México cuando Alejo estaba juntando experiencias e inspiración musical para el proyecto de grabación. Mencionó el deseo de colaborar y afortunademente se comunicó conmigo como un año después. Tenía poco tiempo de haberme mudado a México y consideré el proyecto como un buen inicio para el nuevo capítulo de mi vida en esta ciudad retadora pero fascinante. ​

After three long days of carving , the linoleum the block seems ready to print.
