Tal vez algunas dirán
que yo no las se querer
pero bien comprenderán
por causa de una mujer
cargo en mi pecho un volcán

I remember the scraping sigh of metal folding chairs, cheerful swan plastic napkin holders and the ideal spot beside the tireless hands shaping pregnant tortillas.

Being International Women's Day I remembered Eva Baxin, a woman I interviewed over ten years ago about son jarocho and her memories dancing at fandangos. Some day I hope to publish the stories I collected from about 30 musicians all over the countryside from San Andrés Tuxtla and Santiago Tuxtla along with their portraits.
